Academia as lead applicants:
Eligibility: The lead organisation must be a UK registered higher education or further education institution, RTO or catapult. They must collaborate with a UK-registered business or a not-for-profit organisation – the business must contribute to the project costs. The funding is for "a specific, strategic innovation project that tackles one or more challenges faced by the business partner."

Eligibility: Principal investigator must be a researcher from an established UK research institution; commercial organisations can apply as collaborators. The scheme supports the development of novel, innovative technologies that can benefit human cardiovascular health.

OR Patient-focused studies – "research that has a direct and immediate benefit on patient care including diagnostic, prevention and treatment strategies."

Eligibility: "Applicants may be from any country and may be from academic institutions and small/medium enterprises (SMEs)". Funding is for translating research discoveries into potential new treatments to protect and regenerate hearing and/or silence tinnitus.

Eligibility: Eligible UK-based organisations – higher education institutions, IROs, public sector research establishments, UKRI funded labs and facilities. New collaborations and partnerships are encouraged, including disciplines and sectors. "This funding opportunity aims to accelerate the development of the next generation of tools and technologies that have the ability to make, measure and model the world around us."

Healthcare as lead applicants:
Eligibility: For NHS staff or staff contracted to the NHS or working in the care or public health sectors. Must have at least one research partner (from higher education institutions, NHS bodies with research capacity and public sector research establishments). The projects can address research questions from disease-specific mechanistic hypotheses to MRC/NIHR research in priority areas.
Funding: Total fund = £5,000,000.

SMEs as lead applicants:
Eligibility: UK registered organisations - with SME(s) as the lead or the collaborative grant claiming partner. Funding for "game-changing and commercially viable R&D innovation that can significantly impact the UK economy".
Funding: £100,000 - £500,000 (for 6 to 18 month projects); £100,000 - £2 million (for 19 to 36 month projects)

Eligibility: SME working in HealthTech - funding is for use with regulatory affairs providers to navigate regulatory pathways.
