Innovate UK Young Innovator Awards 2022/23
Eligibility: Be aged 18-20 on the date of competition closing (27th July 2022). Must be a UK resident who has the right to work in the UK, or will have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the award, not have previously received a Young Innovators Award from Innovate UK. Project needs to address a problem, be innovative, be significantly better than what is currently on offer including from existing businesses.
Funding: £5000 grant, a two days a week living allowance, and tailored business support.

SME as lead applicants:
Fast Start: Innovation for net zero and healthcare
Eligibility: Small and micro businesses with highly innovative ideas that have a clear route to commercialisation through business growth. Your project must lead to new products, processes or services that are significantly ahead of others currently available, or propose an innovative use of existing products, processes or services. It can also involve a new or innovative business model.
Your idea must focus on either achieving net zero or self-driven healthcare, and how new technology can enable affordable, adoptable and investable innovations in these areas. We are particularly interested in proposals which will help you:

IHE Healthy Ageing Challenge Award
Eligibility: Researcher/ Academic based in UCL. Professor/ Reader/ Lecturer/ Principal Investigator/ Teaching fellow/ Lecturer or equivalent. Post doc/ Researcher/ Post doc fellow/ Research associate or equivalent are eligible provided contract covers the spend and activity period.
Each team must be led by someone in UCL Engineering but the teams themselves should be interdisciplinary. Technological solutions to ageing challenges.
Funding: Up to £10,000 for seven projects. One of seven teams awarded will receive a further £50,000 to develop their technology.

Knowledge transfer partnerships (KTP): 2022 to 2023 Round 3
Eligibility: Each KTP is a three-way partnership between a UK-based business of any size including not-for-profit organisations such as social enterprises and charities; a knowledge base. This could be a university, college, research and technology organisation or Catapult in the UK; a suitably qualified graduate, with the capability to lead a strategic business project.
Funding: Up to £75,000 per year

Horizon Europe Guarantee - EIT KICs 2022
Eligibility: This funding route is to deliver the UK Government’s Horizon Europe guarantee. Specifically, it covers funding for UK partners involved in EIT-KIC activities in the 2022 calendar year. You will be eligible to register with UKRI for the Horizon Europe guarantee through this route if you are a UK-based organisation which will carry out a project under a KIC 2022 Business Plan and will incur relevant costs during the 2022 calendar year.
Funding: This competition will cover the costs of EIT-eligible activities delivered by UK participants of the KICs that would otherwise have been covered by grant funding awarded by EIT. This will apply for EIT-eligible activities where relevant costs will be incurred in calendar year 2022. Note that costs for subsequent calendar years are outside the scope of the guarantee.

Innovate UK Smart Grants: April 2022
Eligibility: Proposal must demonstrate: a game-changing, innovative, and disruptive idea that will lead to new products, processes or services. An idea that is significantly ahead of others in the field, set for rapid commercialisation. Project must start by 1 January 2023 and end by 31 December 2023.
Funding: up to £500,000 (project duration 6-18 months – can be single or collaborative), and up to £2 million (project duration 19-36 months – be collaborative).
